The National Centre for Health Information Research & Training (NCHIRT) is dedicated to research, training and consulting activities with specific application to data quality in health information systems. The Centre provides specialist advice and consulting services to governments and non-government agencies, public and private organisations and community groups throughout the Australian health care system and internationally.
Our consultants, both academic and professional, have backgrounds in psychology, nursing, public health, health data statistics, health information management, classifications and terminologies, health informatics, injury surveillance, teaching, business and organisational development. They have extensive industry experience in a diversity of health care settings, giving them important knowledge about people, products, processes, and procedures and a greater understanding of the practical needs of health care providers and end-users of health data.
The NCHIRT has positioned itself within the Queensland University of Technology's Network of Research Institutes and Centres to take full advantage of cross-disciplinary collaboration on consulting activities, education and training programs and multidisciplinary research. This initiative forms an integral part of our efforts to maintain our status as a leading supplier of health information consulting services.
